Comprising 6 key, educational and self-management service areas detailed below - this game-changer in skin cancer awareness is the most comprehensive app available to help combat this national public health concern. PREVENTION

Educates users about ultraviolet radiation, how it affects our skin, how to take charge of our own and our family’s skin health and reduce our risk of skin cancer by adopting Skcin’s five S approach to five star sun protection.

UV INDEX FORECAST*

Instant access to the current and daily peak UV index and 2 day hourly forecast for any location across the globe. Handy alerts let users know when the UVI reaches 3, when it reaches it’s daily peak and to remember to apply their sunscreen!

RISK ASSESSOR

Provides users with rationale and advice with regards to their personal level of risk for the development of skin cancer with the facility to create multiple risk assessments for family members.

EARLY DETECTION

Educates users about the various forms of pre-cancerous skin lesions, non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers with images and detailed guidance on how to spot the early warning signs and confidently take action with concerns.

SKIN CHECKING

Provides users with a five-step guide to performing thorough, full-body skin examinations with the ability to set monthly reminders for when their next examinations fall due.

LESION TRACKER*

Enables users to track, store & compare changes to lesions over time using close-up photography and a range of management tools, including a comprehensive lesion assessment service providing detailed advice and signposting.

HOW TO INSTALL THE APP ON iOS AND ANDROID DEVICES

Go to: app.skcin.org (using Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android - as these are the two native web browsers for these devices and they support the installation of progressive web applications - known as PWAs)
Simply tap ‘INSTALL’ and follow the 2-tap instructions to add the app to your mobile homescreen.

The prevention, early detection, risk assessor and skin checker are all completely free.
